What a Solar Panel Lot Price Actually Covers
A solar panel enquiry started with one asking price for panels and equipment. A later quote for the panels alone gave a buyer a different basis for comparison.
What the asking price covered
A lot of several hundred modules was initially discussed at a single asking price. The bundle also included separate equipment. The seller later quoted a per-panel asking rate for the modules alone, with GST extra.
That clarification mattered for a buyer interested only in modules. To compare the two quotes, first define which items are included and put both on the same quantity, tax and cost basis. A separate equipment valuation needs an itemised price and evidence of the equipment’s identity and condition.
What to ask for in writing
| Quote detail | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Scope | Which panels and separate equipment are included. Ask for a panels-only quote if your requirement is limited to modules. |
| Payable quantity | Whether the ask is per panel or for the lot, which condition groups count, and how the payable count is agreed. |
| Taxes and pickup | Whether GST is included and who pays for packing, loading and transport. |
Where the record ends
The available record ends at the asking-price stage. Acceptance, sale and transfer outcomes remain unverified.
Use the same scope and costs when putting offers side by side.
