How to Compare Offers for Damaged Solar Panels
Compare what the owner would receive after the buyer’s acceptance checks and the costs the owner pays. Put both offers on the same quantity, condition and tax basis.
Calculate net proceeds
For each condition group, multiply the rate by the quantity the buyer will pay for. Add those amounts to get gross proceeds. Subtract the costs you pay for removal, packing, loading, transport, handling rejected panels and any agreed fee.
For a weight-based offer, use the accepted net kilograms. Agree which weighbridge to use and how packaging or vehicle tare will be deducted. Ask whether each quote includes GST and compare them on the same basis.
Compare your two offers
The fields start with the 100-panel worked example below. Enter both offers on an excluding-GST basis. Use the quantity each buyer will pay for and enter costs the owner will pay. Calculations run in your browser.
Offer A
- Gross proceeds
- Owner-paid costs
- Estimated net proceeds
Offer B
- Gross proceeds
- Owner-paid costs
- Estimated net proceeds
Worked example for a 100-panel lot
Both offers below are hypothetical. The panels are already removed. Taxes and any fees common to both offers are outside this example.
| Item | Offer A | Offer B |
|---|---|---|
| Rate per accepted panel | ₹500 | ₹410 |
| Accepted panels | 90 | 100 |
| Gross proceeds | ₹45,000 | ₹41,000 |
| Loading paid by owner | ₹3,500 | ₹2,500 |
| Transport paid by owner | ₹5,500 | ₹0 · buyer pays |
| Handling of rejected panels | ₹1,500 for 10 | ₹0 |
| Estimated net proceeds | ₹34,500 | ₹38,500 |
Offer B leaves the owner with ₹4,000 more. It accepts all 100 panels and puts transport on the buyer.
Confirm the terms before dispatch
- Acceptance. Agree which condition groups the buyer accepts, where inspection happens, who confirms payable count or weight, and who arranges and pays for rejected material.
- Collection. Confirm the receiving facility and its eligibility for the intended route. Record who is responsible for packing, loading, transport and unloading.
- Payment and records. Confirm the invoice basis, payment trigger and due date, receipt or weighbridge slip, and any separately agreed processing evidence.
See price, charges and collection in the owner guide.
Record what each party agreed before the panels move.
